I have fallen in love again... With Sam Sparro

Sam Sparro, he is more than just the guy that sounds a little like a British Prince sing a like. He is more than the hit song " Black and Gold"... All I can say is that he is multi talented, and his raspy vocals are extremely well developed. Listen to him sing Estelle's cover of " American Boy" ... Hands down, I love his version more than hers. This guy has more soul in his body than any Chris Brown, pop/ rand b cross over artist.

So get with the program and sample on iTunes a little Sam Sparro, you just might get hooked!

Telling Half the Truth

I tried to be nice, I really did, but now I must vent a little. Have you ever met someone so arogant and stubborn that they were unable to admit some seriour character flaws? I have. I met someone in my life that alsothough has some excellent traits, has a very schrewd outlook on life. The saying " What's the incentive" always comes to mind when I think of this person, because simply put I think that's quite a dumb ass idea. When you act or come off as being cocky and something happens to you, you have a BIG fall, why do you ask? Simply because you only think of the incentive instead of thinking about what good have I done. People do things for Glory, but successful people think about how doing those things will benefit them in the longrun regardless of a pat on the back immediately.
Some people never learn the lesson from the teacher, and well that's ok. And what's funny is that some people only want to tell you have the truth... If you want to tell have the truth, tell it to your damn self. How can a person give a true statement if they only have half the facts... Or when you ask the person to be more specific, they are vague about disclosing information. Quite personally, I think that people that use this type of mind game are the simplest minded people out there. They only think 2D instead of 3D and there demiss is only coming shortly.
Also, they are so quick to blame others and they are equally as quick to tell someone else how there position is wrong, only after being told that they did not have a right to gie an opinion. Then why ask me if I think another human being is a "good dud, huh?" If you are going to pysco analyze what I say and do regardless of the fact that you were wrong in how you handled your business clearly, because everyone with COMMON sense says otherwise... It's hard to believe that you did nothing wrong considering that YOU bring the subject up... As I digress, Understand that people are like chess players on a board, and everytime you think that one of them is going to put the King in Checkmate, a revolt comes upon that player.

The Element of Freedom

So, I purchased a copy of Alicia Keys 4th Studio Album " The Element of Freedom"
I am so amazed musically for this particular album. I love track 7,9,11... I guess I am into to even numbers, however, I think since around 10:00am I have listened to the album in its' entirety 5 times today. I simply love that fact that a new up and coming rapper who happens to be from Toronto Canada, Drake, is credited in writing track 7 Unthinkable/ ( I'm Ready) for Ms. Keys.
I love the lyrics, and the symbolism behind them. This album speaks volumes to the conscious music listener. The lyrics are definitely a breath of fresh air for those who have been looking for some real music instead of this " snap" your fingers music in today's world of R&B, Jazz,Hip- Hop, and Rap. This Album gets a thumbs up

Let's Talk Kem

So lately I have been listening to some borderline Jazz/ Smooth R&B Music.
I would like to recommend Kem's " Album II", I love this artists ability to combine the elements of Jazz with the lyricism of those Neo Soul Poets, the free spirited laureates of long ago. I absolutely love it! My favorite song on the Album is " Heaven", track 2. I really believe in lyricism, which is such a paradox considering I read, have written, and know music pretty well. I fight constantly with the ability to love w song based on the classical conventions of what a great song is and what makes great lyrics. So I will just say that I like Kem's Album. So, just like any other request to those out in the music loving world, please go and buy this Album. You might even start harmonizing after you listen to a couple of songs, lol. It was just a thought.

Just wanted to let the masses know that I really really really like the song " Already Home" by Jay-Z and Kid Cudi from Jay-Z's Blueprint III Album. All I have to say is go listen to it... Heck, buy it if you have too. I promise, you will not regret the purchase.

Back to Basics I

My heart lingers to one day find another artist that will make my " flesh" crawl and make me "tear up" to the sweet sound of their voice in the intro to a song. So many musicians in today's society do nothing but put out music. I call it Music Overkill. I just would like to have a breath of fresh air that consists of me going to the store, and buying a CD without going to youtube.com first to see if I like the album cuts of a so-called musician. I just want singers to be singers, and writers to be writers, and most of all auto- tuners to give our ears a break. Experimentation is key in any form of art work, but we all know what happens to experimentation s gone wrong... They turn into Frankenstein.

The Premise

[Music] She and only She [music] will be the root of discussion for me. I love her[ music]. She is my world, and when I feel like one of her decedents are doing a great job resurrecting her and shaping her into a new genre, I feel pretty darn good about it. So during the course of this musical blog, I will discuss everything from Classical, Jazz, Rap, R&B, Soul, Gospel, Alternative, Rock, Pop, and even occasionally I will even entertain Country. So let's begin this musical journey.

Much Love,
